Peri-implantitis prevention concept
Periodontitis (PA) and peri-implantitis (PI) are acknowledged to be the greatest challenges of dentistry and the spread of both diseases is steadily increasing. On the basis of current data, the prevalence of peri-implant mucositis can be estimated at 20 to 60% and that for peri-implantitis at up to 50%. In Germany alone, 28 million people are affected by PA and approximately 1.5-2 million by PI.
The prevention principle with Dentcoat ideally closes the gap between prophylaxis and PA therapy. Sustainable Biofilm – Management and Aesthetic Revitalization form a coherent concept for periodontal tooth and tissue preservation, relieving the immune system and esthetic revitalization of the gingiva and teeth.
Implant health decides on the abutment.
Requirements for the lifetime of an implant, in particular of implant abutments:
Be biocompatible and fit precisely
Resistant to corrosion
High wear resistance
Support adherence and growth of adjacent cells
Inhibit bacterial colonization or the formation of biofilms / reduce
In particular, minimal plaque adhesion plays a crucial role in the prevention of peri-implantitis.
It is recommended to treat all tooth surfaces with DENTCOAT Mouthguard before implantation.
Peri-implantitis protection by biorepulsive surfaces – SiO2 Complex
The result is a smooth, sustainable biorepulsive surface on all metallic components of the implant, to which proteins and microorganisms can attach only with difficulty. Plaque formation is reduced as much as possible and inflammatory processes on the periodontium are reduced.
PROTECTION THROUGH IMPLANT COAT – POSITIVE INFLUENCE ON A LONG LIFE OF THE IMPLANTS
Improvement of soft tissue attachment in the transmucosal part of the implant.
The adhesion of a biofilm of periodontal pathogens is significantly reduced.
Corrosion resistant by preventing a reaction with moisture.
High chemical resistance of the protective layer; to pH 1.5
Implant coated abutments / implant surfaces are scratch-resistant and can be cleaned like a natural tooth during prophylaxis.
